How much were you paid to post that deceitful comment? Seriously, who the intercourse are you and why the hell would you think that posting such a stupid comment has any persuasive power. Hell, if I were ALEC, I would fire you for stupidity. You are not very good at BS propaganda and your dishonesty is utterly transparent.

I appreciate the fact that Google practices transparency but this is transparently silly. The Heritage Foundation is evil--Google should Google them.

"Almost 98% of ALEC's cash is from sources other than legislative dues, such as corporations, trade associations, and corporate foundations. ALEC describes itself as the largest "membership association of state legislators," but only a little more than ten percent of its funding comes from legislative dues." Should read "but only a little more than one percent of its funding comes from legislative dues", correct? Thank you,

In reply to L. Parsley: The article does in fact mention the NAACP to make the point that funding is going many different places. AARP I would call conservative, and the others you mentioned are not exactly left-wing. The article is not slanted; it is focused, with a bias openly stated. I don't think that Google's complete list negates anything this article argues regarding the purposes and effects of the company donating to the right-wing, libertarian, or Big Business lobbies.

Leslie, I respectfully disagree. There is a HUGE difference between donating to specific candidates of both parties, and donating to ALEC. You're stating a false equivalency here that clearly ignores the power that ALEC has and the evil that ALEC has spread through its cookie cutter far right legislation. Donating to an organization to help the blind does not negate the act of donating to ALEC. On the contrary, it's more smoke and mirrors. As Google allocates its funding to organizations that are working to defund the Affordable Care Act, it's those very same blind people who might be affected the most.
