This was entirely foreseeable. I have been saying that Koch et al. would not lose a close election--that regardless of the outcome, they would be ready (as they have been twice in the past year) to flip the results. Every word in this article is absolutely predictable--as is the outcome of the recount. In the Prosser election, the winner of the race saw the writing on the wall, and understood the cost of a recount (since the GOP "found" enough votes to put it outside of publicly financed recounting), and gave up. We wouldn't want to give up on this one, even though we can readily predict the outcome. At least by going through it, we may have an opportunity (however difficult) to identify at least one or two of the "corrective" changes to the vote count. I hope DOJ is taking an interest. I hope they have experts who have at least a chance of finding the diddles in the nice, new voting machines that were gifted to us by a friend of the right (although I imagine the code has been changed by now, unless machines were immediately impounded). Meanwhile, the example of reverse-speak reported here is nauseating, the attempt to use their fraud to support their claim of Democratic fraud). But much worse is that teaGOP including Romney all over the country are referring to Wisconsin as proof that the people are behind their agenda. And spending 11:1 will make it so.

There is as much PR and money being thrown to promote global warming. So far, in my opinion the evidence points that the whole global warming theory is a scam for which a few key groups stand to benefit. I understand there are groups benefiting from both sides of the fence. Playing the assassination by association game doesn't do any justice to a sound debate on the topic. We need debate in society.

Dear Mary: I think the intent was out-classed in the sense of a larger class of ship or submarine versus outdone in manners or grace, but I have made an edit to clarify this by substituting "outdone." Lisa

Barrett was out-spent, out-smarted and out-almost-everything-elsed. But please don't say that Barrett was out-classed. That is just insulting. There is nothing classy about our current governor or his campaign
