Post 9/11, everyone should have, you gotta have one to drive a car, get on a plane, etc. etc... One more time: the question is not what else you need a photo ID for. The question is whether individual voter fraud is enough of a problem to justify making it that much harder for Americans, who have the constitutional right to vote, to exercise that (in your words) "most sacred Right." It is not. Study after study has shown that individuals trying to vote fraudulently is a rare occurrence. The real fraud is the alleged need for these laws, which are backed by people who buy elections wholesale. In that light, your talk of "keeping fraud out of our most sacred Right as United States citizens" is ludicrous.

If cutting subsistence support will goad the poor out of poverty, why not use the same tactic on the rich? Confiscate their wealth and they'll have to work to replace it, spurring economic activity. After all, the government redistributes wealth upwards all the time in oil subsidies, low taxes on dividends and capital gains. It can just as easily revamp the tax code so the idle rich will have to get off their butts. They're the really lazy ones. Go visit any marina, any executive airport, any world class golf course. That ain't workin'.

I don't know why this is such a big deal. Nobody is taking away anyone's right. Everyone should have some form of photo identification in this post 9-11 world. If you do not have a birth certificate, you can't get an ID??...of course you can, it just takes more effort that is all. Having a photo ID is necessary in today's society. You need one for all sorts of things such as renting a car, for a drivers license, getting medical care at a VA facility, buying tobacco & alcohol products, the list goes on and on. Having a photo ID just makes good sense and would help keep fraud out of our most sacred Right as United States citizens, our voting. The only reason for someone not wanting voters to have a photo ID to be shown when voting screams of voting scams and fraud.

I think along the same lines as you except that that should be done to all union management. They are scum of the earth.
