    ???
When a researcher actually takes money from the very industry he then is expected to do objective science for, he creates a circumstance legally recognized as being one wherein there are reasonable grounds to expect bias due the clear conflict of interest he has created by accepting funding from that source. Yet you announce that "if this is so", then that means we should also doubt any science produced by those whose findings conflict with the findings of that first, legally biased, researcher! Why? Because those scientists must "obviously" be engaged in a conspiracy to "take total control over human lives"!!! This is a bizarre claim, and is one which you (obviously) fail to offer any evidence for. That failure stands in complete contrast to the overwhelming documentary proof and actual admissions made by Arnett et al that they are in receipt of funding from Big Tobacco. What your claim does provide evidence of however, is the paranoia, the cognitive-intellectual immaturity and pathological gullibility that is characteristics of the group whom Dr. Arnett has thrown his lot in with. Oh..How far can a man sink in pursuit of the almighty dollar? Dr. Arnett?

The machinations of ALEC seem to be a model for the new government by "a few people in secrecy" for all the people [with apology to Abraham Lincoln]. In Wisconsin, our Republican Governor Scott Walker has shown a talent for application of this model of secret government from the county level [6 of his county staff members in legal trouble, 2 going to prison, while Scott knew nothing about it], to the post-inauguration as elected governor surprise of a stunning change in labor bargaining rights, a secret the voters were not told about prior to his election.

The connections between Heartland and Philip-Morris are many and well documented. Roy E. Marden is a former member of Heartland's board of directors, and was until May 2003 the manager of industry affairs for the Philip Morris (PM) tobacco company. His responsibilities included "managing company responses to key public policy issues," which he accomplished by "directing corporate involvement with public policy organizations to determine philanthropic support thereto." Or in other words, which public relations orgs. industry (read as "Philip-Morris" et al) will send money to so they can produce the garbage you depend on for your own sad attempts at corporate propaganda.

I have a friend that is a member of ALEC. He tells me what goes on, all the meeting are open to anyone. He gets harrased by people that have no clue what they actualy do and he offers them to come listen. Once they do they get board and wander off, certanly no longer feeling it's something to protest. You should go to one of the meetings. Then you can STFU and go after real issues, like the 2012 NDAA.

This article is complete misleading and specious. The focus is not on fossil fuels, but on allowing encouraging the development of affordable and renewable energy in an open market. Please be honest with the discussion. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the State of {insert state} does not wish to discourage the marketing of “green” power and “green” pricing such that willing buyers and sellers of renewable energy sources are free to negotiate the terms and conditions of such sales, and no technology or class of technologies is given an unfair competitive advantage; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Act also recognizes the prudency and reasonableness of many of the renewable contracts and investments and allows for recovery of costs where appropriate; and BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED, that the State of {insert state} repeals the renewable energy mandate and as such, no electric distribution utilities and electric services companies will be forced to procure renewable energy resources as defined by the State of {insert state}’s renewable energy mandate.
