Though over-all life expectancy has increased over a decade since Social Security was established, life expectancy for people who have already attained the age of 60 or 65 has increased about 4-7 years depending on sex and race. We've already raised the SS retirement age by two of those years. Also, just because people are living longer, it doesn't mean they can actually work full-time those extra 2-5 years, especially if they are working physically or psychologically challenging jobs. And, if they lose that job at age 62-63, what are their chances that anyone will hire them for the last 5+ years of their working life?

The corollary to the religious "sanctity of human life" view is the insanctity of life other-than-human. That is a position I will never support. I support freedom from religion with its anthropocentric speciesist values, and support access to free birth control and abortion upon choice (a woman knows best). The human species is overpopulated and needs to be kept in check! We are a consumer species, and the planet and the 60+ billion "food" animals violently killed globally need relief big time!

My wife was having to do a dental procedure and the doctor office told us that it was covered 100%. The dentist also told us that it was a necessary procedure and she may have complications if we decide not to get this done. We had the procedure and few weeks later I got a letter from insurance that the claim was declined because the dentist from insurance company didn't see it as a necessary procedure. A week later I got the bill from the dentist and their staff told me that they considered it as a necessary procedure but the insurance is not paying so I have to pay. I have done my research and the conclusion is that there is nothing I can do in this situation except to pay the bill. Just like the writer, I feel like I was used like an ATM and my doctor's office tricked me into having a procedure that wasn't necessary.

None of the issues will be solved holistically unless the big money connection between the wealthy, corporations and government is disconnected. We need to work for small dollar contributions from the many and eliminate human rights for corporations, then the rest will come. To take action, participate in the NHRebellion, a national march and project to ensure that the presidential candidates address big money in campaigns and corporate personhood. Go to nhrebellion.org and coalitionforopendemocracy.me for key information.

Making someone's life a living hell as they go to work is a way to kill the human spirit. Pretend to be innocent while pointing out that your tyranny was not always well received. You inserted yourself into their lives and were part of widespread harassment that actual human beings had to deal with. You put yourself above all others and some of those women could have been pregnant, with child, and with no intention of abortion. Do you know the risks imposed on the fetus from stress to the mother? Women who eventually did give birth now have babies who were impacted. I'm wondering how many of those babies lives you skewered mentally who go through life with anxieties they can't understand because it was developed in the womb, thanks to people like you.
