BusinessWeek outed it as a fake blog (or "flog").

"Flog" certainly fits, but now "flogging," meaning promoting a book, movie, etc. on the talk show and signing circuits, has lost some of its innocence. :-(
As a PR person myself, I have read Wendell Potter's book and found a grim familiarity with some of the ethical decisions he wrestled with. There is no question that PR can and has been used to defend tobacco, fossil fuel polluters, health insurance companies, big banks, and other corporate criminals. The PRSA and the PR industry itself needs to step up and improve its ethical standards if it is going to retain any credibility with the public at large.
I am always pleased to see that some people who work in the PR industry care about us, the consumers, because we're usually statistics for them. Wendell Potter is a great man whose purpose is to keep us safe from harm, or at least warn us about what can happen if we don't pay attention to what's happening around us.
Thanks for pointing that out. I'm embarrassed we missed it! Thanks for caring enough to correct us! Lisa
It's foie gras, not fois gras *sigh* :)
