The GOP is doing everything they can to suppress the vote in key Democratic areas that go way beyond photo ID including restricting early voting. As for photo ID requirements they disproportionately affect minority and elderly voters who don't normally maintain driver's licenses, and requiring such groups to obtain and keep track of photo IDs that are otherwise unneeded is a suppression tactic aimed at those groups. In 2011, the state of Florida imposed a short deadline for the submission of voter registration forms, with stiff penalties for late filing. What most people don't know is that every year, elections officials strike millions of names from the voter rolls using processes that are secret, prone to error and vulnerable to manipulation. In the 2002 New Hampshire Senate election phone jamming scandal, Republican officials attempted to reduce the number of Democratic voters by paying professional telemarketers in Idaho to make repeated hang-up calls to the telephone numbers used by the Democratic Party's ride-to-the-polls phone lines on election day. In Wisconsin
The Republican Party attempted to have all 60,000 voters in the heavily Democratic city of Milwaukee who had registered since 1/1/2006 deleted from the voter rolls. The requests were rejected by the Milwaukee Election Commission with Republican commissioner Bob Spindell voting in favor of deletion.
And...how would you know? If you didn't detect it, and the powers to be didn't care to pursue...how would you know?
Minnesota had over 1000 felons vote for Al Frankin and nobody even called them on it. Did you have a felon vote?
That is simply because the corporations mentioned in this article, who fund ALEC, are their tv network and radio station sponsors! "W" Bush carefully told his party that those who could should buy up as many radio stations and local television cable companies as possible; then he could "lame duck" to his heart's content having satisfied his father's wishes.
i think bounty hunting should be legal everywhere yes i admit that alot of bondsman are in it for the money just like some bountyhunters are I am here to not only arrest a fugitive or bail skip but to educate the bail indsustry on new ways to catch a criminal i have my associates degree in criminal justice and have been studying criminal justice since the age of 16 80 to 90% of fugitive recovery agents arrest our fugitives i i will back up bounty hunters all over the US The bail industry can be just as corrupt as any other part of this society look at other corrupt areas just saying but other states like florida need to allow bounty hunters to help keep the streets free from bail skips and fugitives on the run
Your right, Whole foods is not the problem, and Monsanto is only the tip of the corruption. The corruption caused when corporations and government intertwine themselves. When you have agribusiness execs heading up the FDA, energy execs at the DOE, banking and financial industry execs controlling the fed, it becomes clear the problem is much bigger than just Monsanto controlling our food supply. Until we can kill corporate personhood, and remove their influence, ( ie: money), from government decisions, bills, regulations, and laws, we will continue on this path of draining society from all directions of our quality of life.
