Sure, we would all like our insurance companies to be there for us. The issue is that we elected congress to write legislation, not a shadowy organization that works behind the scenes to decimate the middle class, undermine the constitution, and profit off of the slave labor market they are creating.

There is a whole segment of the population that will agree with you. They are the Republican Party, and they are willing to subvert our democracy by suppressing the voting rights of those they deem "Subversives", ie anyone likely to vote against them. Their ideology is dictated and paid for by the wealthy elite and a corrupt Supreme Court.

The point regarding statistical evidence is valid. Interpretation can always distort data, not to mention the motives of the police in under and over reporting. With respect to the Trayvon Martin incident, Zimmerman has not gotten away with anything. When guns are outlawed only outlaws will have guns. Do you think Chicago is safer because of it's restrictive firearms laws?

The Viking King Canute the Great arranged a demonstration for his subjects. He had them go down to the seaside at dawn, carrying his throne, and place it at the waterline. He then commanded the tide not to come in, lest it get the hem of his robe wet. needless to say, it did. He told everyone to remember that the tide didn't listen to people: "Let all men know how empty and worthless is the power of kings."

Due to a large number of policies and factors, a vote for Gary Johnson is going to be a vote for Romney and therefore, the worst of the worst when it comes to continuing the policies of the neoliberals. May as well vote for Forest Gump.
