It should be noted that the Parker Mansion is on the National Register of Historic Places. As such, Paul Ryan qualifies for a 20% federal tax credit for any maintenance expenses he incurs on the house.

We should be absolutely vigilant in not allowing ALEC funded lobbyists, or whatever they pass themselves off as, to write, rewrite, or alter in any way, the laws that legislators are elected to write. We have to prevent the 1% from rewriting the constitution. Thank you for making us aware of this horrible and dangerous activity. Our elected officials should be doing the job that they are elected to do, not snoozing, taking bribe money, and allowing these cunning criminals to legislate.

Family planning approaches have been included in Catholic hospital plans for a long time. It's only when the bishops and some pastors recognized the need to distract their people from the clergy abuse scandals and the financial costs involved in settlements that they started overtly attacking women though their abusive messages about family planning and contraception. And now they have a VP candidate who can take on the task. What a pack of hypocrites!!!

Great piece. Behind Paul Ryan's smiling face is a sinister mind. He is the embodiment of Ayn Rand's philosophy and cannot separate himself from it. It is interesting to note that William F. Buckley thought that Ayn Rand's philosophy was "curious". He was amazed by what he saw as "a lack of goodness" in her thought, and he was greatly perplexed by her popularity. On the Charlie Rose show in 2003, patron-saint of the conservative movement Buckley commented about Ayn and her magnum opus "Atlas Shrugged". On "Atlas Shrugged", WFB: "I had to flog myself to read it." On Ayn, WFB : "Her scorn for charity, for altruism was such as to build up an unfeeling system". It is just my opinion, but Ayn Rand's ideas are similar to those of a Nazi and a sociopath.
