As a contractor this is a great step in the right direction, but I had a question on what it actually means. http://www.dir.ca.gov/dlse/ab1522.html "Employees, including part-time and temporary employees, will earn at least one hour of paid leave for every 30 hours worked." This looks awesome! If I work 30hrs each week for 50 weeks I should earn 50 sick day hours? But then there is this little clause: "An employer may limit the amount of paid sick leave an employee can use in one year to 24 hours or three days." So for someone who works 12hr shifts this amounts to 2 sick days a year. If I come down with the flu in Jan and am out for 2 days that is it for the year? Even though in theory at the end of the year I would have 48 hrs earned I could not use any?

While I agree there has been alot of charter schools come and go, in reviewing the Fresno information, two schools have changed in status but remain open: University High changed district sponors, and CART while no longer a charter school is still a school operating with special legislation from the State.

Thank you for this important article. Indeed, charter schools are fraud factories, a mechanism to get money. Another weapon of mass deception being used against our public schools, along with testing, common core, teach for America teachers.... I co-wrote this book and website (where most of the book is located for free). I want this corporate ed-reform to end! The more the people are aware of what is occurring, (and thank you again for making them aware), the faster we head towards sanity and fairness. http://weaponsofmassdeception.org/

@Chester Payne: "they" HAVE resorted to "killing off school teachers and officials"! (Do you not realize that fact?) And what is your proposal as to stop it?
