In America, where in my opinion, freedoms are vanishing there are but 2 major political parties. Each has their own agenda supported by PAC's and lobbyists.
But the people's agenda has been hijacked. Hijacked by PAC's, and lobbyists (special interests). The lobbyists are CREATED by special interests.
Special interests have LITTLE IN COMMON with the EVERYDAY people who voted our representatives into office to govern this country.
Special interests represent unions, corporations, Medical, pharmacies, education, health care industries, global warming, global cooling, pet mouse experiments, etc, etc, ad nauseam. HELL, THE MEDICAL AND PHARMACY LOBBYISTS WROTE THE OBAMA HEALTH CARE BILL!!!
It would seem that those 99 percenter's are looking in the wrong direction for their grievances. What most people don't know is just how large and influential the lobbyists have become. In 2000, the lobbyists spent $1.56 BILLION. in 2010, they spent $3.51 BILLION! AND, there were 12,540 lobbyists in 2000 and in 2010 there were 12,941 registered lobbyists. THAT REPRESENTS 21 LOBBYISTS FOR EVERY FEDERAL ELECTED OFFICIAL SPENDING $3.51 BILLION - ON WHAT????????? And they call Mexico 'ripe with fraud', Ha!
The elected officials, once sworn into office have one and one thing only on their calendar - That is to become reelected.
Every wonder why elected representatives leave office with more money than they came to office with? You should!
The time is now to reestablishing what America once stood for and it was honest, integrity, an honest day's work for an honest day's pay, when a handshake really meant something!
SO, instead of saying 'them guys over there are buttheads', how about saying lets work together to solve the problems for the common good.
This is what you and your friends are working to accomplish:

Your "everything else needs an ID" argument is a poor attempt at spinning your attack on the constitutional rights of many, many Americans.
If you call yourself an editor, you need a copy editor to screen what you write
in the middle of the night. Your writing is sloppy. About who is being more
honest about re-structuring Medicare, I have to agree with those who
keep the larger picture in focus. The larger picture includes recognition of corporate abdication of responsibility for the greater good. About fear mongering, what about the lead up to Iraq? That was the most strident fear mongering I can remember in the last 40 years.
For the average working person having an "acceptable" form of id is no problem. Unfortunately, many minorities and elderly don't have one. This is just one of many obstacles that the GOP is using to block potential Democratic voters. There are few cases of voter fraud that the ID laws are being passed to prevent. This is a part of a greater effort by ALEC for corporate control of America through their GOP allies. Election fraud and electronic voting machines are much greater threat to our democracy and haven't been addressed.
Since when do 'newscasters' get to use creative license? They are supposed to be reporting what happened, not what they wish had happened.
