As a career news researcher, I'm disappointed that PR Watch would publish such a one-sided piece. It is not at all unusual for corporations to donate to both political parties and their allies and this is the case here. If anyone wants to accuse me of being a fright wing sympathizer, let me assure that I am not, but neither do I approve of deliberately slanting a piece and packing it with hyperbole by ignoring important details. If anyone would bother clicking on the link in the article that leads to the actual report from Google, and that CMD supposedly examined, they would find 34 trade associations and well over 50 third party organizations such as the American Library Association, the Association for the Blind, AARP, the NAACP and many others.
It has been my experience that it is best not only to look below the headlines but to take the time to backtrack to the original document.
The groups Google is supporting are definitely anti government, anti public services. As much money as Google makes it is really appalling they would go to such lengths to cut the already miniscule corporate taxes they pay and emphasizing increasing profits, while robbing the public of participation in the important choices and decisions our courts and elected officials make. The founders of Google benefited from government funding when they created their start-up company. So did many other high tech companies that made a fortune in our country. A bit of gratitude and investment in America seems more appropriate to me rather than screwing every last dollar they can from the national treasury, legally or not. Do yourself a favor and explore ALECEXPOSED.com for an education in what has become of our country over the last 40+ years under our noses. An organized group of John Birch Society hardliners have been long-term planning and spinning the web of deception that we have fallen into. Democracy is in meltdown in this country. Please wake up and speak out.
