The premise here is that the, the economy can all be blamed on the previous administrations. Sure, Bush had some major screwups, but President Obama has been in office for more than 19 months. During the last 19 months he has signed a significant amount of legislation. No one can intellectually argue that he has had no effect on the economy. Even stupid people intuitively know that you can't rack up 4 times as much debt as the previous administration and not have a profound and immediate effect on the economy. President Bush has some definite blame here, but so does President Obama.

I'm very concerned about the quality of our food, especially when it comes to cloned meet, genetically modified food or nano particles or whatever they call them. Who really knows how that stuff affects our bodies? If you can't afford organic food, I suggest growing some food in your backyard, if you can. We need to start looking for more healthy ways to eat. Health is everything. Without it you have nothing.

If you move the spill south of the gulf, without crossing the equator, you'll see it appear to shrink in size. If you move it North, it will appear to increase in size. The spill actually covers the same area on the map no matter where you place it, what changes is the map itself! Google Maps, and many maps we're used to looking at, use something called "Mercator Projection" in order to draw the spherical surface of the earth onto a flat plane. This projection distorts space as you move away from the equator in order to make the nice flat map you see. This means that a 100 square mile object placed at the equator will appear much smaller on the map than the same object placed closer to the poles. If you think about it, this makes sense -- if you were to wrap a string around the globe, you would need much more string to do so at the equator than you would further North, yet Google Maps portrays the Earth as a rectangle. You can read more about Mercator Projection on Wikipedia.

Why is everyone boohooing over Arizona duplicating the Federal law?

Who cares if the statistics are wrong?

NO ONE should be entering our country illegally.

We need to enforce our borders and kick out everyone who is here illegally.

Why should anyone be allowed in our great country without signing the guest book and paying taxes?

If it is bad where they come from let them fix it like our ancestors did here.

As I write this, the seemingly coordinated attacks on Elizabeth Warren continue. And they're not from Fox, but from Democrats. It now seems highly unlikely that she will be appointed to head the bureau. Instead, I think they want to put in some Geitner-like toady who will not fulfill the promise of this bill and the bureau. Warren is the most respected and most reasonable candidate, and it's a little puzzling--and a lot infuriating--why the administration is not supporting her.
