A jury has convicted I. Lewis Libby, the former chief of staff to Vice President Dick Cheney, of lying to a grand jury and to F.B.I. agents investigating the leak of the identity of Valerie Plame Wilson as a CIA operative. Nevertheless, reports Neil A. Lewis, "The defense’s plans to ask for a retrial and then appeal the verdict mean that it would be many months before Mr. Libby would be required to go to jail. It also would provide a window for Mr. Bush to pardon Mr. Libby, an issue about which the White House has been silent, but one that quickly became a topic of speculation in Washington." Libby's conviction adds weight to charges that the White House deliberately leaked information about Plame's CIA job to punish her husband, Joseph Wilson, for blowing the whistle on Bush's false claims about alleged Iraqi efforts to build nuclear weapons.

LIBBY GAVE TESTIMONY, IT WAS RICHARD AMRMITAGE, (A DEMOCRAT)! 3RD WHY DID THE PROSICUTER CONTINUE THE INVESTIGATION OF A NON CRIME, SINCE HE ALREADY KNEW WHO IT WAS THAT "LEAKED"? WHY DID HE BRING MR. LIBBY IN? IT'S OBVIOUS THE PROSICUTER WAS TRYING TO BRING DOWN THE ADMINISTRATION AND THE SO CALLED "INVESTIGATION" WAS NOTHING MORE THAN A VEHICLE TO THAT END!!! THIS IS A CONTINUATION OF SOCIALISTS ATTEMPTING TO OUTLAW AND CRIMINALIZE VIEW POINTS OF PEOPLE WHO DISAGREE WITH THEM AND TO FRIGHTEN AND INTIMIDATE ANYONE WHO DARES TO EXPRESS IT! THE SOCIALISTS WILL NEVER CHANGE! IT IS A TRAVISTY OF JUSTICE!! MR. LIBBY SHOULD BE PARDONED IF HE DOESNT GET A NEW TRIAL OR APPEAL! WHAT IS NEXT FOR THE LEFT? THE KILLING FIELDS REDUX IN THE WEST?

Funny, there are plenty of folks who think the exact opposite is obvious -- that by targeting Libby and only Libby, Fitzgerald cooperated with the Bush-Cheney regime's damage-control effort.
You pays your money and you makes your choice. The less money you pays, the more choices you gets.
P.S.: Richard Armitage a Democrat? Can you cite a source for that? I couldn't find anything to corroborate it.
