The Dangers of Teaching Labor History to Children

In late February, an "upset Wisconsin parent," Amber Hahn, appeared on Fox & Friends to speak out against the inclusion of union history in the state's public school lesson plans.

Hahn was worried about the dangers of teaching about organized labor to kids. This type of curriculum might prevent kids from learning to "research things and form their own opinions." In the video she also says that unions have "infiltrated" the state's administration and that she doubts the labor history lessons teach the "financial impacts and aggressive intimidation that the unions have been using." The interview was broadcast during the massive protests against Governor Scott Walker's bill to cut the collective bargaining rights of most union workers. Fox and Friends neglected to inform the audience that Hahn was the Chairwoman of the Columbia County GOP. Now Fox has an opportunity to correct the record. Last week Hahn drove drunk and crashed her car with her three kids in the car. Perhaps she can be interviewed as an expert on a more pressing and deadly danger to kids, drunk driving.

Talking about a walking contradiction! She can't even respect the dignity of her own children's lives. What a CREEP! Please someone remove her from her position before she hurts somebody else!!

I hope you mean her position as parent. I don't care if the whole GOP wants to follow DRUNKS like her, or drug addicts like Rush. It just proves how wrong headed they are.

As the granddaughter of a child miner survivor of the infamous Ludlow Massacre, I have to wonder about whether or not Hahn is worried about history lessons that FAIL to teach 'financial impacts and aggressive intimidation that the CORPORATIONS have been using.'
