Adam Werbach [3], once the youngest head of the Sierra Club [4] and currently on the board of Greenpeace [5], must have a lot more "green" in his bank account today. As Fast Company reports, his green PR firm Act Now [6] "has been scooped up by none other than the lovemark [7]-man himself: Saatchi & Saatchi [8]'s Kevin Roberts. The new company, called Saatchi & Saatchi S [9], in which Werbach will remain CEO, plans on bringing sustainability to the ad agency's clients, which include A-listers like P&G [10], Toyota, and Visa. ... Pairing up with Wal-Mart [11] was painful enough for the environmental establishment to swallow. Now Werbach will be owned by The Mad Men of Madison Avenue, the one place where greenwashing [12] is most feared and excessive wastefulness still runs rampant." Werbach's current clients [13] are presumably now clients of Saatchi & Saatchi S [9]. They constitute a score of corporations, foundations, Big Green [14] groups and others such as Amnesty International [15], Center for American Progress [16], General Mills [17], Nathan Cummings Foundation [18], National Wildlife Federation [19], Rockefeller Brothers Fund [20], Sierra Club [4] and World Wildlife Fund [21].
