Media activists, scholars, reporters and policy makers will converge in Memphis, TN, this weekend, for the National Conference for Media Reform, organized by Free Press. If you'll be there, stop by the Center for Media and Democracy information table or come to one of the presentations by CMD staffers. On Friday (1:15-2:45 pm), CMD senior researcher Diane Farsetta will talk about corporate video news releases, as part of the "Creeping Deeper: Advertising and Commercialism" panel. On Saturday (9:00-10:30 am), CMD founder and executive director John Stauber will discuss U.S. war propaganda, as part of the "Trust or Verify: Propaganda and the Press" panel. See you there!
