How did your state run it's Dept of Financial Services? We incur all the costs of keeping up with "Our Clients" once released from jail and pay enough in Forfeitures here to buy the officials new cars each year! If we don't pay we can't work! Your comment makes no sense in Florida.
We also take the burden of chasing misdemeanor warrant skips, just tonight we caught a guy the S.O. has been looking for for weeks and couldn't catch, our Agent also caught a skip that the U.S. Marshalls couldn't get! Give us a break! We are the criminals babysitters so the REAL COPS can concentrate on real police work. Half of Florida would be out of work if you squashed Bail for Profit here and the criminals would be running amuck!
P.S. We rarely even see a Judge for anything let alone pay them kickbacks, The Lawyers deal with the Judges and we must give clients the names of a minimum of 3 Lawyers so as not to be accused of getting kickbacks from THEM. The rules here are very strict and closely monitored. It takes every penny we make to keep our overhead and employees paid and fugitives recovered at 150.00 a pop when they're local and we only collected 100.00 in premium on anything from 0 - 1,000.00. There's 50. in the hole already.
Dog and Beth have Big cars and nice things because of the show not because there's a fortune in Bail, It's hard work with high risk attached, we work hard and I'm personally offended that you degrade my profession by claiming we cause corruption. To correct you, We like everyone else are at the mercy of YOUR corruption!
There should be a new law in America requiring companies that change their name for any reason, for example to "re-brand", to include all of their old names in all public notifications such as advertisements. If a company is acquired by another, the swallowed up company's name should also appear in subsequent public announcements. Perhaps a required time period of five years would be appropriate.
This way, for example, Firestone Tires simply can't change their name to Brimstone Tires in an effort to make their tires safe in the minds of their customers. They would have to give some kind of clear disclaimer: "We renamed our company from Firestone to Brimstone in an effort to re-brand our tire products" in all of their public announcements.
A mercenary company like "Xe" would then be required to clearly announce, for five years, that they were formerly Blackwater, and all of the negative and positive aspects of it would be preserved. In effect, they would have to delay their "re-branding" for five years.
Of course, company's lawyers will figure ways to circumvent this new law as they do all laws. But, after all, America *is* a land of laws.

Disclaimer: I just said what?
I do not believe that all politicians are corrupt. The NH legislature has many clean, hard working, dedicated citizens ( all parties) who SERVE the people.
It just isn't fair to paint all with the same brush
Herewith, the 21st century version of "the pen is mightier than the sword" insofar as the camera, a bringer of truth and knowledge, is more frightening than a gun, which brings death. Cowards.
I can understand why... yes Americans have to show their IDs for many different things. That's what proves you are who you say you are (though I suppose for some people getting a fake ID isn't hard). What about the elderly who don't have an ID and have to stand in very long lines with no seats or other ways of waiting for their turn, as stated in a comment further down the page? Homeless individuals... while yes they are homeless, they are still part of the state and have rights. Just because one is homeless does not mean that one is less of a human being or have less rights. I think if the government is going to make it the law to show an ID to vote, it should be easier to get an ID... like make it completely free! No fees. No charges to renew your license or non-driver license. That's just a way to get more money out of the American people to waste on bs like government employee raises to a couple of million dollars a year for a salary... which is also bs. (Our economy is in dire straites and the government is giving themselves more money... DUH!)
As for Wisconsin... they need to have MORE DMVs in the state so everyone has the chance to get a state issued ID. Hello! How the hell can it be a law to have an ID for voting (a RIGHT not a privilage) when there's hardly a place in the state to obtain an ID??? That's NOT OKAY! VOTER SUPPRESSION is WRONG. I am angry that laws are being created to make it so hard to vote... it's like racism all over again! The elderly can't vote. Homeless people can't vote. How messed up is that?
The solution is clear. America is a land of laws.
