I can't think of anything that would make me happier than seeing Walker get recalled from his throne in Madison. Well, that's not true, what would make me happier would be if he was convicted as a result of the John Doe Investigation into crimes committed during his tenure as Milwaukee County Executive? Wisconsin will be a much better place without the likes of him.
Proud to hear Rep. Hank Johnson call ALEC out for their takeover of our legislative process here in Atlanta, GA. Residents in DeKalb County have been actively opposing T-mobile / ATT cell phone towers that are planned for 8 public schools.
With 16 of 18 DeKalb County representatives signed on to the local bill in support, across political party lines, racial lines, geographic lines and economics, the bill should have passed handily to the House floor before crossover day. We also had support from all our county commissioners and collected more than 1,200 signatures on petitions.
Three hours of testimony over three days at three separate state hearings and not one single person showed up to state they were in favor of the plan to put the towers on school grounds. The bill should have flown through the Rules Committee, a basic formality. Instead, the committee was headed by a member of ALEC, Rep. Chuck Sims of Ambrose (R), GA, a rural county that's so small it would fit inside one of Dekalb County's elementary schools and still qualify for closing.
After the telecomm lobyists showed up, Sims declared the bill to be unconstitutional (as in the Georgia constitution, as written by a 4-term senior level state reprenative with a PHd in Physicsl. He then took charge, met with his "advisors" and emerged with a non-binding resolution that will seek to trick voters into saying that they want the towers even in violation of zoning regultions that were put in place to protect the citzens' healtb and property values.

Then will there be any regulation at all. Do we just move into our own China syndrome.
