It sounds as if your wife may have had CJD, which can have several causes; and also occurs in the human population sporadically with no known cause, at about the same rate throughout the world. It is a terrible way to die and I am truly sorry for your wife's suffering. Variant CJD (vCJD) is linked with the consumption of tissues from BSE-affected bovines and has not been reported for several years in the USA. There were three cases of vCJD in the USA, all attributable to exposure in the UK or Saudi Arabia. It is a reportable disease. The US government continues to test high-risk bovines for BSE and has only found three cases in the USA. There is no cover-up. The disease in humans is called variant Creutzfeld-Jacob Disease. The vCJD in humans we had here (three cases) were ALL attributable to exposure in the UK or Saudi Arabia. 1. There is no peer-reviewed science demonstrating toxicity in connection with GMOs. In contrast, there are hundreds of peer-reviewed papers demonstrating the safety of GMOs.
2. I don't know who "we" is. Maybe some obscure cults think they don't need GMOs but the world needs it if it wants to a) feed the growing population, b) save bananas from extinction, c) save oranges from extinction, d) save papayas from extinction.
3. 98% of pesticides consumed by US consumers are of natural origin and produced by plants. Like the chemically synthesized pesticides they are toxic for insects and pests, but not for humans. GMOs have decreased the overall use of pesticides.

I enjoy eating meat but I want to make sure that when a company labels a package "cage free" and "humanely treated" that they are being truthful. I pay more money for meat that I believe is treated as humanely possible. I have personally, eliminated eating pork (religious reasons) and beef (lack of cows being treated humanely) from my diet. Again, I'm not anti-meat and I don't believe this group is either. I don't know why you can't see the issue here. If a company decides to label their meat packages as "raised humanely" they better be telling the truth. Is it okay for a corporation to knowingly lie? And profit more money for their lies?
My brother is a prisoner in F.C.I. in Skuylkill P.A. , where he and the inmates , according to reported excessive coughing which endures for months, are contaminated with a lung disease and/or Tuberculosis for this is spreading throughout the prison , inmates are informed that they have Rhino Disease and are denied medical attention. Please help these individuals , God have mercy if my brother dies in prison. He has been a slave for the corporate America since he was twelve years of age. I refuse to allow him to die there, he is currently fifty five. He has done his time , they sentence him to life by incremental policies.
