Is Alex Carlin a closet skeptic? As a PR expert, he knows that constant rebranding only serves to increase public skepticism.

This is a pretty good example of right-wing rhetoric. It turns aside from the logic it telegraphs. To clarify You see the writer pose a question -- Lately the left-wing's efforts on behalf of the poor have not been sufficient to prevail against opposing forces, so why support them? The answers you expect are logical ones like: "Obviously the left wing needs to respond to changing parameters instead of pouring money into the same old modus operandi," or "Frankly, maybe they do need more money." But instead the rhetoric just *turns aside* and waxes sardonic instead of really probing the questions. I see this a lot from right wingers, and it's getting to where I can tell who they are because (a) they scoff so much you figure they're out to hurt peoples' feelings more than anything else; (b) their rhetoric depends on readers to be half asleep so you don't catch their sleight of hand -- equivocation or some other logical fallacy; and (c) if you see them on TV they have a certain untrustworthy look in their eyes, and a certain vacancy as well. This guy didn't send a video or photo, so I can't claim he has this certain look about him. But watch these guys. Online. Offline. On TV. At a coffee shop. It's a certain kind of character. It sends chills up my spine.

"[P]eople will fight to avoid a future where they are forced to abandon their homes and find a new place to try to survive." When the new major glaciation period happens--not unlikely in our life times--then, yes, many millions of people in the northern hemisphere will have to move south in order to survive. That would include 38 million Canadians, and all of the people in New England and the northern tier states of the U.S. And then there are the Russians. And the thing is, global warming or global cooling, there's not a thing humans can do about it, but I would sure prefer a warm December to a frigid July.

Well, it's about time for a new, more expletive term. GW, GCC no longer inlame the public. Climate disruption just never caught on. Climate ruin - just the next string for "we have a faux crisis going on here".
