This afternoon Republican incumbent George Allen [3] conceded the Virginia [4] senate race to Democratic challenger Jim Webb [5], giving the Democrats the 51 seats they needed to control the Senate [6]. Democrats are also currently running at 239 House [7] seats to the Republicans' 196, with ten seats still too close to call.
